The 1966-67 Chevy II has always been a favorite of ours. With the popularity and growing difficulty finding rust-free or buildable hardtop bodies, we decided to add them to our body shell product line. We knew that the bodies that were already available in the marketplace were built overseas and had severe fitment issues. We decided to acquire several 1966-67 Chevy II original bodies and build our own fixtures. The new Real Deal Steel 1966-67 Chevy II hardtop bodies were a hit right from the start. When we began building new steel bodies, it only made sense to offer the parts required to finish the body. We offer all of the sheet metal parts that we use to build the bodies for sale to customers. In addition, we offer front end sheet metal, and fully assembled 1962-1967 floor, trunk and frame rail assemblies.
For customers that don’t need a full body, we offer precise fixture-built and spotwelded floor assemblies that include the main floor, trunk floor and rear frame rails. This makes saving a rusty original Chevy II far easier since the floor/trunk assembly serves as a rigid starting place when restoring a car with rotted floors. Since Chevy II is unibody, your original body can be fitted right to our new floor assembly once the remains of the original floor are removed.
In addition to the full floor assemblies, Real Deal Steel also manufactures and sells the trunk floor and frame rails only, fully spot welded and ready to repair your Chevy II. With so many cars being updated and customized and built as pro-touring or resto-mods, we designed and manufactured enlarged transmission tunnels for 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967 Chevy II Nova cars which allow installation of the GM late model automatic transmission and the Tremec 5-speed.
