Less than two years after starting Real Deal Steel and manufacturing our full-size Chevy bodies, customers began calling us several times a week asking us if we manufactured First-Gen 1967, 1968 and 1969 Camaro bodies. We knew that the bodies that were already available in the marketplace were built overseas and had severe fitment issues. We decided to acquire several 1967-69 Camaro original bodies and build our own fixtures. The 1969 Camaro body quickly became our best seller and it still is today. When we began building new steel bodies, it only made sense to offer the parts required to finish the body. We offer all of the sheet metal parts that we use to build the bodies for sale to customers. In addition, we offer complete front end sheet metal packages, front subframes and fully assembled floor, trunk and frame rail assemblies.
For customers that don’t need a full body, we offer precise fixture-built and spotwelded floor assemblies that include the main floor, trunk floor and rear frame rails. This makes saving a rusty original Camaro or Firebird far easier since the floor/trunk assembly serves as a rigid starting place when restoring a car with rotted floors. Since Camaro and Firebird is unibody, your original body can be fitted right to our new floor assembly once the remains of the original floor are removed.
In addition to the full floor assemblies, Real Deal Steel also manufactures and sells the trunk floor and frame rails fully spot welded and ready to repair your Camaro or Firebird. With so many cars being updated and customized and built as pro-touring or resto-mods, we also offer our floor and trunk floor assemblies built already cut and narrowed for the popular Detroit Speed style mini-tubs, allowing a much larger wheel and tire combination. We also designed and manufactured enlarged transmission tunnels for 1967-1969 and 1970-1981 cars which allow installation of the GM late model automatic transmission and the Tremec 5-speed.
